May 27 -- ATLANTA -- New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft says construction of a new stadium in Foxborough could begin by the end of the summer, following yesterday's approval here by the National Football League of a plan to finance half the facility at no cost to the team.
The stadium's estimated price tag is now about $285 million, which does not include $70 million in state money that would be used to improve roads, sewers, and other public infrastructure around the site. That is significantly pricier than the $225 million estimated by the league prior to yesterday.
