WHAT: A special, festive Amtrak train will celebrate the New Orleans Museum of Art's unprecedented exhibition, "Degas in New Orleans: A French Impressionist in America" and FrancoFete, the 300th anniversary of French influence in Louisiana. As the train makes its run from New York to New Orleans, recreating Degas' original journey by rail, stops will be made en route where news media can hear about his art and travel experiences. There will be an opportunity to meet a Degas impersonator, hear about FrancoFete and enjoy music and refreshments at each of the gala platform parties.
