Verbena
At this year's South By Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, Verbena guitarist Anne Marie Griffin performed a vicious piledriver on her Univox Mosrite copy as she twirled around in platforms and a nurse's outfit. "I fell on top of it before our last song," says Griffin. "I tried to tune it, but the strings were just slipping off the nut, and it also wouldn't make any sound."
Apparently, courting disaster is an integral part of the band's style. Griffin's partner in crime, lead singer Scott Bondy, also messes with his guitars. "If you turn your guitar around, play it left-handed, and string it with .012s, you have to fight it a little bit more ...
