Since becoming CEO last August, Jack Greenberg has reinvigorated McDonald's Corp.'s slumping U.S. business and improved the company's financial performance -- accomplishments that earned him the additional title of chairman earlier this month.
He succeeds Michael Quinlan, 54, who stepped down at the company's annual meeting after a nine-year tenure.
Since Mr. Greenberg, 56, took the helm, McDonald's has shuffled its executive suite, restructured its regional management teams, repaired relations with franchisees, improved the restaurant chain's kitchens and begun testing more menu items in the U.S. than at any time in the last 25 years.
