Jun. 3 -- ROCKY FORD, Colo. -- Warmer weather is helping the region's field and vegetable crops, according to the latest crop scouting report for Otero County.
The report program is provided as a courtesy to farmers by the Arkansas Valley Research Center, the East and West Otero soil conservation districts and the Otero County office of the Colorado State University Cooperative Extension Service.
In this week's report, crop scout Ken Hood said alfalfa growers are in the middle of getting their first cutting on the ground. A few producers have their hay in the bale and are moving it off their fields. A return ...
