Jun. 9 -- At Detroit Metro Airport on Tuesday, most Northwest Airlines flight attendants wore either green lapel ribbons or orange tags reading "Strike." Many wore both.
"It's a sign of unity," said a flight attendant who asked that his name not be used. "The green is for `Show us the money.' "
Lapel ribbons and tags are just one way that flight attendants are preparing for a showdown with Northwest, the nation's fourth-largest airline, sometime this summer. Union leaders were also mapping a so-called HAVOC campaign to disrupt airline operations if contract talks fail.
