NASSAU, The Bahamas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 15, 1999--
Teekay Shipping Corporation (NYSE:TK) today announced that Axel Karlshoej has advised he will step down at the end of this term as chairman of the board of Teekay, a position he has held since June 1994.
Karlshoej cited the demands of his company, Nordic Industries, as the reason for stepping down. Karlshoej will continue to serve as a director and chairman emeritus of the Company.
C. Sean Day, who joined the Board of Teekay in September 1998, will be appointed as Karlshoej's successor as chairman of the board following the Company's 1999 Annual General Meeting scheduled for Aug. 31, 1999. ...
