Misleading assumptions about allergies are almost as widespread as the pollens, molds, and danders that cause them.
What we've often assumed to be true about our sneezing and wheezing may not in fact be so. Research has shown the following common conceptions to be little more than myths. The biggest allergy myth of all, however, may be that allergies are merely an annoyance. Not so, says the latest Allergy Report from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Allergies cause fatigue and other symptoms that can severely limit productivity and interfere with our lives. There's also a strong link between allergies and life-threatening asthma.
