HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1999--
Midcoast Energy Resources Inc. (AMEX:MRS) announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Midcoast Canada Operating Corporation ("Midcoast Canada"), has opened a new office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It also announced that Jimmy Wright has been named president and chief executive officer of Midcoast Canada.
Wright, who has served as chief operating officer of Midcoast's wholly owned subsidiary Mid Louisiana Gas Company since 1996, will head Midcoast's Canadian operations from the new Calgary office.
