The Palace of the Herons is the official residence of the President of the Republic of Panama Ernesto Perez Balladares, and the First Lady, Dora Boyd de Perez Balladares.
History
The Palace of the Herons was first built in 1673, and since its inauguration the building has gone through different modifications. It originally served as the house and office of the Spanish governor, Luis Lozada Quinones. Then it became the Royal warehouse, a deposit, school for teachers, the National Bank's headquarters, and in 1855 the Presidential House.
