NEEDHAM, Mass., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- AVANT Immunotherapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVAN) announced today the achievement of a major milestone in its partnership with SmithKline Beecham (NYSE: SBH), which aims to develop and commercialize a two-dose oral rotavirus vaccine. This milestone is based on AVANT's successful completion of a Phase II efficacy study in infants and SB Biologicals (Rixensart, Belgium) establishment of a commercially viable process for manufacture of the vaccine.
