The Minnesota Twins are baseball's existential crisis.
The American League is not ordinarily where one expects to encounter profound philosophical dilemmas. But no fan can gaze upon the Twins without peering into his own soul and asking the primal question, "Why am I here?"
Then, as the fan realizes he bought his or her ticket in February, that question is followed by an even more primal question, namely, "Why are the Twins here?"
You know how Jimy Williams always says the Red Sox are "just playing the schedule?" Well, the Twins are just filling out the schedule, allowing 13 other AL squads to avoid unsightly forfeits.
