Professional Builder magazine recently completed a comprehensive national survey of housing preferences, which, not surprisingly, found that "aging baby boomers are a force to be reckoned with in the housing market," asserts Susan Bady, the magazine's senior editor.

"According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of baby boomers between the ages of 45 and 54 will increase by almost 50 percent from 1990 to the year 2000," says Bady, and "there will be more than 37 million boomers in that age group in the year 2000, up from 25 million in 1990." Obviously, it will be good to know what these home buyers are looking for in a house.
