DRENOVAC, Yugoslavia _ Dead men may tell no tales, but dead cows apparently do, because the one lying in a weedy Kosovo field Tuesday said quite a lot to Tom Dibb.
The bald patch of dirt around the cow's rotting frame told Dibb the beast had fallen victim to a land mine explosion. And the fact that the cow still had four legs told him that it hit a trip wire and was blasted from the side, rather than having stepped on a pressure mine, which would have sent a blast from underneath.
