NEW ORLEANS -- New evidence of the cardiovascular benefits of hormone replacement therapy emerged from two studies presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) reduced left ventricular mass in an 18-month, placebo-controlled trial with nearly 200 hypertensive, postmenopausal women on standard antihypertensive therapy The proportion with left ventricular hypertrophy was almost 50% lower in those who used transdermal HRT than in those using a placebo patch.
