Francisco Flores took over as President of El Salvador in an inaugural ceremony June 1. In his inaugural address, Flores promised to stimulate economic growth and job creation to alleviate the poverty that affects more than half the population. While most of his critics gave him the benefit of the doubt and 100 days to show results, some suggested the Flores administration would be five more years of the same policies followed by his predecessor Armando Calderon Sol.
