PHOENIX, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) today announced plans to exit one of its Medicare programs, Medicare+Choice HMO, effective January 1, 2000. The company will immediately halt sales of its MedicareBlue HMO products in Maricopa, Pima and Pinal counties in Arizona.
"While we're the largest health insurance company in Arizona, we're a small player in the Medicare HMO business," said Richard M. Hannon, BCBSAZ senior vice president of marketing and provider affairs.
