The European Commission adopted, on July 1, a draft amendment to the Statute governing the effects of the establishment of the European Fraud Investigation Office (OLAF). On May 25 there was an Inter-Institutional Agreement (between the European Commission, European Parliament and Council of Ministers) on OLAF. Regulation 1073/99/EC sets out measures fixing the scope of investigations to be carried out by OLAF, as well as the procedures governing such investigations, and the rules concerning the rights and obligations of the persons and organisations concerned.
