SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 1999--
Members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) today shut down the Port of Oakland and staged slowdowns in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach in the wake of their leadership leaving contract talks last Saturday after the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) provided the union with a recap of negotiated items, including a generous wage and pension offer.
