ALTON, Ill., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Argosy Gaming Company (NYSE: AGY) announced today plans for a 300-room convention hotel in downtown Baton Rouge at a press conference held along with Mayor-President Tom Ed McHugh, officials from the Downtown Development District and the Company. The 10 story hotel, to be called "Centroplex Centre Convention Hotel," will be located across the street from a planned $30 million expansion of the City's Riverside Centroplex Convention Center that will add 100,000 square feet to the facility.
