High Hopes
Twenty-five years ago, Sis Gould formed and founded an organization known as the Lower Connecticut Valley Educational Riding Association (LCVERA). It originally operated with borrowed horses, a minuscule budget, a handful of hard-working volunteers, and had a home at whatever local barn offered space.
In 1988 Sis Gould renamed her pioneering riding program for children and adults with disabilities as High Hopes. Today the High Hopes facility is home to a herd of 21 horses, 17 professional staff members, and countless volunteers.
