Skid-steer loaders with operating capacities in the 1,350- to 1,750-pound range remain the most popular for good reason
The '90s have seen an impressive rise in the number of skid-steer loaders on the job. According to Construction Equipment's 1999 Universe of Construction Equipment & Machinery, the number of U.S. firms that own, lease or rent one or more skid-steer loader increased from nearly 44,000 in 1995 to nearly 55,000 today, or about 25 percent. And this does not include the number of skid-steers used in agriculture, landscaping and other non-construction applications.
