Article: Justice Dept., Lawyers Group Join Efforts To Target Hate Crimes.

In an attempt aimed at improving the tracking of and response to hate crimes across the country, the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and the Justice Department recently formed a joint effort.

The new effort, funded with a $200,000 Ford Foundation grant, is aimed at marshaling private lawyers to aid the Justice Department in identifying and punishing hate crimes, which according to advocates are vastly underreported.
