WHEN THE FANS BOOED: In 1965, folk-music icon Bob Dylan recorded "Like a Rolling Stone," the defining song of both his own career and his era, with a plugged-in rock-and-roll band. Al Kooper, who played organ on the record and at the live shows that followed, recalls the furor.
I was invited to watch the session by the producer, Tom Wilson, who was a friend of mine, and I was just ambitious.
