BP Amoco announced today that its second exploration well on Angola's deep water Block 18 has resulted in a second significant oil discovery.
The Plutonio well tested oil at rates up to 5,700 barrels a day on a restricted choke size. It was drilled in 1,362 metres water depth and is located 175 kilometres north west of Luanda.
The first Block 18 discovery, Platina, tested oil earlier this year at 6,500 barrels a day and was drilled in 1,400 metres water depth.
