Monte Carlo Is Not Like Other Cities
The German couple cross Europe intent on tasting the charm of Monte Carlo during their vacation. Their imaginations are filled with visions of gleaming sports cars and fragrant flowers tumbling over stucco walls, behind which play the super rich. Instead, they find a towering wall of glass and steel, Miami Beach by the Mediterranean, and streets crowded with traffic.
The best views of the harbor and city seem to be denied, prime real estate locations having been bought up. Indeed, Monaco's wealthy rarely rub shoulders with tourists, the badly dressed hoi polloi who have become the tiny principality's new lifeblood. ...
