What's it like to be the first kid on the block to discover an asteroid? "It's pretty exciting," says Heather McCurdy, 17. Heather is one of three teens at Northfield Mount Hermon School in Northfield, Massachusetts, who made their own space history last October. Along with George Peterson, 18, and Miriam Gustafson, 18, Heather scoped out an unidentified asteroid, or icy space rock that orbits the sun, about 4 trillion miles from Earth. The teens made their discovery right in their own classroom!
