Jul. 17 -- The Israeli government has agreed to purchase 50 Fort Worth-made F-16 jet fighters, with an option to purchase 50 to 60 more, the top executive at Lockheed Martin's Fort Worth plant confirmed last night.
The Israeli decision was revealed by a government official late yesterday in Jerusalem and reported by Israeli news media, which said the deal could be worth $2.5 billion.
Dain Hancock, president of Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems in Fort Worth, said the contract will help stabilize employment at the fighter factory well into the next decade. Lockheed is trying to boost orders for the ...
