A consortium teamed by the Unicamp university, the agricultural research company Embrapa and Net Campinas are developing the Internet 2 project in Campinas, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Unicamp was supplied with R$300,000 equipment last May, when the project started being developed. Some more R$170,000 were invested in training. Cable television services provider Net Campinas is responsible for the data transmission infrastructure. The Campinas Internet 2 project is scheduled to be finished within the 1st semester of 2000.
