Jul. 22 -- This.com, a Fort Lauderdale start-up company, on Wednesday launched a nationwide Internet site and access service aimed at making cyberspace a safe place for children and families.
"This.com will give families the freedom they want to explore the Internet and the peace of mind to let them do it," Brad Daniel, the company's chief executive officer and president, said during a press conference in Washington.
Executives with the privately held company began researching the Internet last December with plans to launch an electronic commerce site aimed at children.
