To cope with tricky conditions, you'll need to go well beneath the surface
IT'S AN ARTICLE OF FAITH among trout fishermen that the trout in most waters do up to 80 percent of their feeding on the subsurface food organisms anglers commonly call nymphs (never mind that some of them are actually larvae, pupae, crustaceans, aquatic worms or whatever). It doesn't necessarily follow that you'll catch 80 percent of your trout on nymphs, but nymph fishing is an effective method, especially when conditions aren't ideal.
