The hills are alive with pick-your-own flowers at the Boyd Family Farm in Wilmington, Vt. Janet and Bucky Boyd cultivate countless flowers that "have the place buzzing" with agri-tourists and brides.
From East Dover Road, which winds through the Mount Snow Valley, the Boyd property looks like a wild piece of corduroy. More than two dozen multicolored strips of flowers stretch across the landscape as part of of 300-foot-long flower beds.
It wasn't always this way. Until 10 years ago this was a summer landscape of a single color: green.
"It was a typical Vermont family farm with some livestock and kitchen gardens," Boyd said.
