Well, researchers are gathering evidence that sleep deprivation _ known to the rest of us as staying up all night _ can actually lift depression, and even ward off premenstrual syndrome.

The latest findings on the mood-boosting benefits of not sleeping _ an area of inquiry in Europe for 40 years _ are reported by University of California, Irvine, researchers in Monday's American Journal of Psychiatry.
