In June 1999, drugstore.com, inc. (NASDAQ: DSCM) entered into a strategic relationship with Rite Aid Corporation (RAD: NYSE, PSE) providing Rite Aid customers the ability to order prescriptions through the drugstore.com Web site (www.drugstore.com) for delivery by mail or same-day pickup at 3,800 Rite Aid stores nationwide.
The agreement significantly broadens drugstore.com's ability to provide prescription medications to customers with insurance reimbursement plans. Through the agreement, drugstore.com will have the same breadth of access to pharmacy benefit management plans as Rite Aid, including ...
