Introduction
Mentoring has been the relationship of choice for professional development in the business arena for many years. A mentoring relationship involves a more experienced professional serving as a supportive and guiding role model for another professional who is less experienced in the field. Mentoring has also become a focus in the educational sphere. Graduate students are encouraged to seek out a mentor. New and junior faculty receive similar messages.
