BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug. 4 (UPI)
Lebanese President Emile Lahoud has rejected Israeli threats to destroy the Lebanese Army if resistance operations continue in southern Lebanon after a planned Israeli withdrawal.
Lahoud said today that the Lebanese Army will continue ``to carry out its mission with heroism and courage to confront the Israeli occupation and will not be in any day a guard or guarantee for its security.''
He said, ``The language of threat and menace used by the enemy would not dissuade Lebanon from holding on its firm position regarding the peace process.''
