Aug. 6 -- When it comes to interactive TV, you'd better stop laughing -- and some local companies can celebrate.
A leading industry consultant now says that this technology will rival the Internet within three years, generating $20 billion in revenue by 2004.
That's one of the findings of a new report by Forrester, a Boston-based company that studies the commercial and social impact of technology.
"Interactive TV has gone from being a laughingstock to becoming a potentially massive revenue generator," says Josh Bernoff, principal analyst for television research at Forrester.
