Remember when chicken on the grill seemed kind of exciting? Some time around, oh, May 23? Back then, when grill season was still young, plain grilled chicken was enough. It was charred, it was summery, it was cooked outdoors - what more could we want?
Plenty, by the time August rolls around. Take those boneless breasts out of the fridge and light the coals now, and chances are you'll be hearing groans and hoots of derision, not cheers of delight. Chicken again?
