WARREN, N.J., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Celgene Corporation (Nasdaq: CELG) today announced its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 1999. Net revenue was $5.8 million, reflecting $5.3 million in product sales of Thalomid(R) (thalidomide) and $495,000 of revenue from research contracts. The Company had no revenue for the comparable period in 1998. The $5.3 million in Thalomid sales represents a 51 percent increase over the preceding quarter. The net loss from continuing operations for the second quarter of 1999 was $6.2 million, or $0.37 per share, compared to a net loss of $8.8 million, or $0.55 per share, in the comparable 1998 period.
