Purdue University will dedicate its new $22 million, 120,000 sq.-ft. Food Science Building September 24th on the university's campus at West Lafayette, IN.
Development of the new facility was spearheaded by Department Head Dr. Philip E. Nelson, who established the university's Department of Food Science only 15 years ago. Since then, food science student enrollment has more than tripled and the number of faculty doubled. The new building will help Purdue achieve its vision "to become the world's leading food science department," said Nelson.
