WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- With the recent FDA approval of Sonata(R) (zaleplon), a new treatment for insomnia, the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) hopes Americans will increasingly discuss their sleep problems with their doctor. According to NSF's 1999 Sleep in American survey, more than half (56%) of American adults report experiencing symptoms of insomnia a few nights a week or more, yet only half of those people are being treated by a healthcare provider for their condition.
