Presstek Inc., Hudson, N.H., a provider of direct digital imaging technologies to the printing and publishing industry, recently notified Creo Products Inc., Burnaby, Canada, of possible patent infringement regarding the direct imaging (DI) system Creo designed and is manufacturing for the Heidelberg Speedmaster 74 printing press. In a letter dated June 30, attorneys for Presstek advised Creo that the DI system appears to infringe on the claims of a Presstek patent that was recently reexamined by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office.
