Aug. 20 -- Intel Corp. is dropping its line of stand-alone graphics chips and instead will focus on integrating those functions into its other semiconductor products, the company said Thursday.
The Santa Clara-based semiconductor giant is betting that the rapid pace of change in graphics technology will slow, allowing it to effectively market integrated products, which have generally failed to sell in the past.
The integrated products, known as chip sets, play an important role in personal computers, managing communications between the main processor and the rest of the computer. Intel had long planned to add ...
