Kim uses insights from Gadamer, Kuhn, and Tillich to investigate four principal Korean theological models: a "sowing model" (Park Hyung-Nong) used chiefly by the conservatives, a "yeast model" (Vim Chai-Choon) found more among the liberals, a "converging model" (Suh Nam-Dong), and the preferred "grafting model" taken from the work of Ryu Tong-Shik, which represents "the mature side of the liberal part of the Korean Church" (p. 15).
