Oil Spill Response Limited, (OSRL) has been asked by one of its participant companies, BP Amoco, to attend an incident at the state owned TUPRAS refinery in Iszmit, following the earthquake on Tuesday 17 August.

OSRL's Hercules aircraft was fully loaded with oil pollution containment and recovery equipment and flew to Turkey from Southampton airport on Thursday 19 August. OSRL has also sent a team from its pool of skilled oil pollution experts and technicians.
