Aug. 27 -- FORT WORTH, Texas -- Nokia, the fast-growing wireless phone manufacturer, said yesterday that it will convert its Centreport plant to make mobile phones as U.S. consumer demand increases.
And with the production change at the Fort Worth factory, the Finland-based company will hire more employees for the local operation, said K- P Wilska, president of Nokia Mobile Phones-Americas.
Nokia, whose headquarters in the Americas are in Irving, has not determined how many new workers it will need, Wilska said.
Nokia has over 4,500 Metroplex workers and has been aggressively adding more. The ...
