Colombo Inc., a division of General Mills, has made it easier for on-the-go consumers to eat nutritiously by providing a snap-out two-piece spoon in the lid of all its 8-ounce yogurt containers. Surprisingly sturdy, the spoon pops out from the bottom of the perforated lid and snaps together for no-hassle use. The new packaging was introduced nation wide this summer and can be found in grocer's refrigerated dairy sections at an average retail price of $0.69.
Colombo developed the snap-out spoon concept in-house and sought the help of packaging designers to create the package. Landis Plastics (mark Item 241) supplies both the canister and the lid. The package ...
