All teenagers worry about their appearance during puberty. Their bodies are changing and most will get acne at some time during adolescence. Special needs teens are no exception and may even have some special considerations. Although acne is often seen as a cosmetic problem, good control of acne can enhance self-esteem.
There are many myths about what causes acne. In reality, there are three primary causes of acne -- hormones, heredity, and plugged oil ducts.
