Aug. 29 -- Attendance at Huntington State Beach has dropped 45 percent since a sewage spill forced the closure of the majority of the waterline -- a drop that some say could forecast a loss of as much as $3 million for Huntington Beach merchants over Labor Day Weekend.
The mystery leak that was discovered last month has since forced the closure of Huntington City Beach as well, leaving downtown merchants worried that many of the 250,000 expected for the three-day holiday will not come.
