PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Brazilian energy demand is presently considered to be growing at a rate of 6 to 7% per year. The high consumption levels are thus expected to create increasing deficit risks and stability problems for the southern region of the country. As a result, the Brazilian power sector, for that matter, must now expand thermal generation, in addition to hydro, in order to meet growing demands.
